CORNELL UNIVERSITY AAP | ARCHITECTURE ART PLANNING

Cornell’s College of Architecture, Art, and Planning is one of the oldest and most prestigious schools of its discipline.

Krate, in partnership with Soulellis Studio, worked with Cornell over a 15 month period to unearth and develop a forward-thinking direction for the school’s identity and their online presence. Since the school encompassed three academic departments and a wide range of stakeholders, thorough research was key. We met with stakeholders, from one-on-one interviews to large committee meetings. After a sweeping examination of content and architecture, six legacy websites were combined under the umbrella of a new, unified site. A robust content management system was erected, new avenues of dynamic content were established, and student and alumni work were integrated throughout—adding vibrant visual reminders about the talent and creativity that Cornell nurtures.

After the launch, Krate remained the technology partner for Cornell AAP for four more years, collaborating with them in a range of areas to further evolve the site experience. Website additions included implementation of a custom campus webcam, interactive timelines, and multimedia streams that can be pushed out to flat panel LCDs throughout the campus.
